We’re Looking For A: Packaging Development Manager who is responsible for developing and executing all new packaging development projects from brief to final delivery. A highly collaborative position working closely with Product Development, Packaging Engineer, Brand Development, Graphic Design, QA & Regulatory and Supply Chain teams.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead development and promotion of new packaging innovation
  • Track and manage all packaging development, regularly reporting development status to cross functional teams, making recommendations for action, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Manage packaging samples throughout each project, ensuring undecorated components are available for co-man and decorated components are available for Graphic Design
  • Partner with other business entities and external packaging suppliers to realize packaging development goals and identify opportunities to innovate
  • Provide packaging solutions for new products, existing hero products and line extensions
  • Work closely with external co-man to ensure packaging meets their requirements
  • Negotiate component costs to ensure packaging meets internal cost targets.
  • Manage and develop cost saving initiatives in conjunction with Supply Chain
  • Coordinate and manage packaging development efforts while maintaining brand integrity and uniformity.
  • Proactively investigate innovative and new packaging solutions for new and existing products
  • Maintain basic packaging documentation including technical component drawings
  • Establish and manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, timely delivery, and favorable terms
  • Attend industry-related conferences, webinars, and trade shows to stay updated on packaging trends, technologies, and best practices

Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Detail oriented with an ability to prioritize projects, handle multiple tasks and take full ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Strong understanding of packaging standards and technical requirements for packing and shipping
  • Ability to troubleshoot packaging issues and implement a corrective action plan
  • Identify and recommend changes to systems and processes as appropriate
  • Results oriented, high analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 5 years relevant experience managing packaging development in dietary supplements, consumer goods, personal care, and/or pet food categories
  • Experience and knowledge providing effective packaging solutions across a range of packaging substrates
  • Experience in effective supplier relationship management
  • Retailer experience (preferred)
  • Awareness of the strategies employed by direct-to-consumer, online marketing companies (preferred)

The base salary range for this position is $106,200-$141,700, plus annual & monthly KPI bonus potential.
Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geographical location.
