We’re Looking For An: Assistant Production Manager
Shift: 2nd (3-11:30pm)
Location: Richfield, WI
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Adhere to the safety guidelines and protocols and enforce the guidelines and protocols as needed with employees
- Oversee and manage the entire production process within assigned area(s) of the manufacturing facility to operate within budget and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Implement and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards
- Analyze current production processes and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Manage team of Production Supervisors and provide support on the daily activities of production and hourly employees
- Monitor and review the daily line performance to ensure operations meet performance standards and make improvements or adjustments as needed
- Partner closely with other departments including Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Sanitation, Accounting and HR to maintain efficient operations and overcome challenges in the production area(s) as they arise
- Create and share regular reports with management provide status updates on production metrics, issues or challenges facing the department(s)
- Provide and encourage an open working environment on the production floor with all employees; lead effective conflict management efforts as needed when challenges or disagreements between employees arise
- Effectively manage the workforce and assist Production Supervisors through the disciplinary process while partnering with Human Resources
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and identify cost saving opportunities and see through those opportunities to implementation
- Coach and mentor strong performers, providing development opportunities to prepare employees for future roles and opportunities
Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of leadership within a manufacturing setting
- Bachelor's degree in business, food technology, manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
- Prior experience working in pet food or food manufacturing (preferred)
- Strong background in lean manufacturing (preferred)
- Certified Black Belt (preferred)
